Taught by Andrea Funk | Hosted at the Too Cool T-shirt Quilt Shop
Get ready to make the coolest, most unique T-shirt quilt you’ve ever seen.
This hands-on, in-person class teaches you how to make an ultra-modern quilt in your choice of styles: Bullseye, Broken Glass, or Arches. Whichever style you choose, Andrea will guide you through every step so you leave with the skills—and the quilt top—to prove it.
By the end of class, you won’t just have a completed quilt top—you’ll have the skills to recreate this for yourself, friends, family, or even as a paid service

Once your quilt top is done (late Sunday or Monday), Milie—our long-arm quilting wizard—will teach you how to quilt your quilt on one of our Innova machines. This also includes the backing and batting for your quilt.
This is a very physical class—expect lots of getting up and down from the floor. You have to be able to move.
You should already know how to piece a quilt top. Experience with sewing triangles is helpful but not required.
Bring your own T-shirts. We’ll let you know how many based on your chosen design. Stick to standard cotton T-shirts—it’ll make life easier for your first quilt.
If you run short on T-shirts, we’ll hit some thrift stores in the evening to stock up.
No interfacing needed. We will teach you to work without it.
It might be hot AF in the summer. We don’t have AC. Bring light clothes, and a heat-loving attitude.
Class size is limited to 5 people for maximum individual attention.

Absolutely. You’ll walk in with T-shirts and walk out with the knowledge, materials, and hands-on support to create a full quilt top—plus the option to long-arm it while you’re here. You’ll leave confident enough to make these quilts on your own, again and again. And if you choose to sell quilts? This class is your launchpad.
The Flare and Spiral styles are more difficult. These styles shouldn't be your first ultra modern quilt.
But you will be going home with a pattern to make another quilt. We can help you design one of these styles for your second quilt.
Learn on an easier style to make the more difficult styles less difficult!
Let’s not sugarcoat it—it’s a workout. You’ll be getting up and down from the floor a lot. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the right fit. But if you’re reasonably able-bodied and don’t mind a bit of bending and stretching, you’ll be good to go.
We’ll do everything we can to help you finish during class—but if you don’t, you’ll have all the skills, layout, and materials to finish it at home. And of course, you can always reach out afterward if you hit a snag.
And you are also welcome to stay through Monday.
Absolutely! We have commercial machines available for you to use, but if you're more comfortable with your own, bring it. Just make sure it’s in good working order.
The $750 deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel more than 30 days before your class, we’ll credit your deposit toward a future session (valid for one year). If you cancel within 30 days, the deposit is forfeited.
If we have to cancel, you’ll get a full refund or a reschedule—your choice.
No. This is not a beginner class. It’s advanced, technical, and fast-paced. You need to already know how to piece a quilt top, use a sewing machine confidently, and understand basic quilt construction. If you’ve never made a quilt before, this will be overwhelming—and not in a fun way.
