About Too Cool T-shirt Quilts

There Is a Better Way to Make a T-shirt Quilt!

Since 1992, we have innovated and challenged the status quo.

It All Started With a Bag of T-shirts in 1992...

And what came out of that bag wasn’t just a quilt—it was a challenge to the status quo.

That first quilt broke every rule at the time:

  • The blocks were cut to fit the graphics, not forced into uniform sizes.
  • No iron-on backing stiffened the shirts—it stayed soft and flexible.
  • No sashing broke up the design—it was bold, clean, and modern.

From those three simple but radical shifts, Too Cool T-shirt Quilts was born.

And it didn’t stop there.

What began as one breakthrough method has lead to a number of different T-shirt quilt styles - including the stained-glass style.

Now there is the Ultra Modern method. This methodology let's the T-shirt quilt maker push the boundaries of what a T-shirt quilt can be.

We’ve been saying it since day one:
“There is a better way to make a T-shirt quilt.”
